How to perform dumbbell raises?

The movement is performed by:

  • back and shoulder muscles

Additionally works:

  • shoulders, glutes, back of thighs Starting position:

Grab dumbbells and stand with your feet hip-width apart. Bend your knees slightly and lean your straight torso forward, creating an angle of approximately 45 degrees to the floor. Hang your arms and dumbbells vertically down. Palms pointing backwards, shoulder blades retracted, abs tight.

Movement:

Keeping your torso stationary, raise your arms forward. Then bend your elbows back, bringing the dumbbells to the sides of your shoulders. Straighten your arms forward and lower them to the starting position. Repeat.

Directions:

Feet hip-width apart. Abs engaged, back straight. Head extended.
